Lotte Beckett is an actor, theatre-maker and writer based in Sydney (Gadigal).
Hey hey! Lotte (she/her) is an actor, writer and theatre-maker based in Sydney. She is currently in rehearsals for Steel Magnolias with Neil Gooding Productions and Woodward Productions.
On stage, recent performance credits include Julia and The Election Monologues (Sydney Theatre Company), DOGHOLE (Old Fitz Theatre), Last Time (Motley Bauhaus) and Climbers (Fever103 Theatre). On screen she has appeared in The Drover’s Wife: The Legend of Molly Johnson (Bunya Productions), Four Years Later (SBS) and most recently in the Stan series He Had It Coming (Jungle Entertainment). She has also appeared in short films Accoladia (Pork Store Productions) and Good Grief (SUZY Productions).
As a theatre-maker, she regularly collaborates with Lily Hensby under Hensby & Beckett. They recently created and performed Hittin it Big! (Old Fitz Theatre), A Fine Line (Melbourne and Sydney Fringe) and We’re New Here (Melbourne International Comedy Festival). They will debut a new comedy show at Improv Theatre Sydney this March, and re-stage their award nominated theatre production Last Time in September.
In 2022, she also co-wrote, performed and produced CLUB NITE, staged at nightclub Miscellania in Melbourne. CLUB NITE was awarded the Room for Art Project (Ethical Property Australia), and received an epic feature in The Age. It was also the first theatre work performed at Miscellania. She has written other theatre work for La Mama, ATYP and Griffin Theatre Company.
As a writer, she was chosen for the Shark Island KV Creative Residency and the MerrigongX Program at Merrigong Theatre Company. Her work was also shortlisted for the Martin Lysicrates Prize and Katie Lees Fellowship.
She is a graduate of 16th Street Actors Studio and Melbourne University (Creative Writing, Theatre).
